In the previous publication, unfolding throughout the bizarre, wild, convoluting and undulating layers of my abstract prose; I described how the reductionist approaches many people live by, often causes major problems for them in the long haul.
When you look at the lives of most people, you see they’ve settled in. Which is to say, they’ve subconsciously established limits and boundaries, and they live inside that shrivelled space.
My approach working with clients, is to turn this around, flip the script, and get people looking outside the boundaries and limits they set themselves.
I encourage clients, to see everything in their life from different angles.
Moreover, I nudge them to shatter and tear down the tight walls and lowered ceilings they built for themselves.
I get them to question why they choose to settle for what already exists, while subtly provoking them to consider possibilities beyond what they have settled for in life.
This doesn’t involve any analysis or counselling, but a reacquaintance with imagination.
Through building first a rapport and connection with clients, I then guide them to envision a dream beyond what has gone before.
I entice clients through imagination to envision a bigger dream, which is far more expansive and thrilling than the one they had previously.
This approach is based on the logic: It works better to have a BIG vision, a BIG dream, a BIG desire for your future, for your life; which excites and motivates you to pour waves of intense energies into realising the vision and dream.
As opposed, to having a small vision and dream for the future, which slightly arouses interest, where you dribble a few drops of energy into perhaps fulfilling a fraction of the dream.
Because pursuing a massive creative vision and dream, will thrust consciousness into spheres of elevated power, where one can access expansive energy, and have it available always for one’s disposal.
This injects a surge of electricity and aliveness within one’s life.
And if things become challenging and overwhelming, then one can always cut back a little, if necessary, on the BIG vision and BIG dream. Whatever, the person will remain living life on a far more dynamic and expanded scale.
As opposed to working with a small dream and vision where one tinkers, readjusts, and remodels things, always scaling down and modifying, until not much is really left.
Limited visions and desires are often at the root of many people’ s problems and troubles.
Shrunken dreams ultimately supress the individual’s unlimited capacity to create reality, and freely experience and express their consciousness.
This suppression of creative impulses and capacities gradually builds up internal pressures, which eventually needs external outlets.
What usually happens, is these pressures are released and expressed negatively.
Problems, worries, doubts, confusions, frustrations and a plethora of debilitating emotions burst forth, which makes life feel stressful, boring, and insufferable.
Causing people to desperately seek avenues where they can alleviate the unbearable stresses they experience.
Their attentions and energies become fixated on resolving problems, removing stress, and half-heartedly fulfilling the shrunken ambitions they have in their lives.
They get absorbed in resolving ‘what already exists’, which evolves into shoring and securing up ‘what already exists’.
As a result, life becomes merely existence. The sheer electricity of life is shut off. And the burning desire to feel alive, is missing that spark of ignition.
Life has become an endurance battle. Rather than the uplifting, thrilling, and creative adventure it could be, if a person were living connected with the true essence and force that lies buried inside their being.
This hidden treasure buried deep inside everybody, is the essence and force which could revolutionise and thrust lives to new and soaring heights of unlimited power, energy, joy, and freedom.
That unrivalled and boundless essence and force which people shut themselves off from, is IMAGINATION and SPONTANIETY.
And so, people move through life searching for treasure, searching for LIFE. But without the map and compass of imagination, their path is always heading towards ‘what already exists’. Which is a dead end containing a whole pile of nothing.
They never venture down unexplored paths which may lead to an unlimited abundance of new experiences, new emotions, new life.
Their paths are predictable and monotonous, missing novelty, surprise, and the electrical surges of spontaneity.
In society, many people’s lives have become consumed with organisation, routine, and trivial distractions, that relate to and engage with merely material existence.
Where only material states of consciousness are experienced and expressed on mechanical levels, which feeds people waning energies and powers.
In my consultancy practice, I’ve witnessed several times, people come to me seeking something new, looking for change, and to experience new life.
The trouble lies in they have been searching for this change in the territory of ‘what already exists’. Without knowing they can explore new territories and use their imaginations as maps.
I see my clients are often lost and heading in the wrong direction, so I shoot straight for their imagination. And guide them towards following the path of imagination.
I will show a client a glimpse, a little peek at what their imagination can do, what aliveness it can bring, and then it’s down to the client to run with their imaginations and explore.
On many occasions clients can be reluctant to engage with their imaginations. They hold back and can be initially timid in working with their imaginations. It’s often something they have forgotten and don’t recognise as a faculty.
After all, many people abandon their imaginations when they reach adulthood, as if it were a rite of passage.
A rite to be taken, so they can fit in, get ahead, and be seen to be accomplished and successful adults, who are rational and congenial. And so, people bury this almost child-like and perplexing thing called imagination. They allow an amnesia to sweep over their psyches’.
This leaves me often in an intriguing position as a coach; where I must remain composed and not allow my clients to brush things off, and simply dismiss their own imaginations.
I seize every opportunity to establish a ground, where me and my clients can meet and work together. I open spaces where clients can feel free, safe, and ready for me to facilitate an expedition of imagination.
I forge an open space, where I can show clients what marvellous powers can be accessed through their imaginations.
Sometimes that space can appear as a battleground, in extreme situations. No matter what though, my strategy in every situation is always to persist, keep my eye on the ball, my finger on the pulse; and give clients dynamic exercises and techniques which are fresh, exciting, and tailored-made for their individual needs.
Every exercise and technique are designed and aimed at firing up their cold imaginations.
This imagination work is often met with puzzled expressions, as many clients find these exercises rather absurd and bizarre, outside of their comfort zone, not in line with what is normal, and totally irrational.
Clients get the feeling that what I’m showing them isn’t a system or representative of one, this usually throws them totally off balance.
Which is great, it means they have for a moment ventured off from standard channels and they are now heading down an uncharted path.
Removing a person from standard response channels where thoughts and feelings are mechanical, is a great start.
I can now show a client that not everything in life must be predictable, rational, and organised neatly into a box. And that a marvellously bright future can be found in new spaces and territories which are free, expansive, and spontaneous.
The dynamic and fresh exercises I present clients are centred on unblocking and loosening up their imaginations, so it can be released, unleashed, and deployed in creating and manifesting their expanded visions and desires, for their futures and lives.
Once they get a taste and a feel for the flavours of their imaginations, and how tantalising the juices are. My client’s hunger for more in their lives, grows.
Suddenly they see how imagination is alive. That it exemplifies life and is living energy.
They see imagination as the major and vital part of the adventure, that is called ‘creating the future’.
They become fearless, bold, daring, and enterprising explorers!
