George Orwell‘‘’So long as they continued to work and breed, their other activities were without importance. Left to themselves, like cattle turned loose upon the plains, they had reverted to a style of life that appeared to be natural to them, a sort of ancestral pattern…Heavy physical work, the care of home and children, petty quarrels with neighbours, films, football, beer and above all, gambling filled up the horizon of their minds. To keep them in control was not difficult.’’
Kicking things off with a passage from Orwell’s ‘1984’, published in 1948. In some ways, nothing has changed since then.
Now in 2024, the described horrors of Orwell’s magnum opus are unceasingly unfolding before our eyes. I’m revealing through the layers of my bizarre prose, a few ways we can halt the disaster heading towards us.
This is more than a series on coaching!
So be it!
Pay attention!
The enervating stresses, obstacles, and struggles which stifle and drag people down, are often rooted in a lack of creative expression and supressed energy.
Let me break it down into a summary.
The basic operating principle is: A HUMAN IS TRYING TO DEAL WITH INTERNAL ENERGIES THAT DON’T FIT INTO THE FAMILIAR PATTERN OF CONSENSUS REALITY. THESE ENERGIES ARE “BIGGER” THAN CONSENSUS REALITY. THEY’RE STRONGER, MORE VIBRANT AND EXPANSIVE THAN THE EXTERNAL ENERGIES EMANATED THOUGHOUT OUR SOCEITY.
So, in retreat and avoidance, he adopts formulations like: “things are exactly what they seem to be”; “I’m fitting in”; “I’m weak” ‘’ I’m bored shitless with life but I’m going to smile, while I pretend that everything’s hunky dory’’ “I have lots of problems” ‘‘ I’m going to have a few beers and watch the footy.’’
None of these formulations are an honest assessment of who the person is at their core. They are all ways of trying to obscure energies that do not fit the rules of a conformist society.
The person subconsciously knows he is engaged with strong energies that don’t find a comfortable niche in consensus reality. He isn’t sure what to do. So, he invents a shorthand formulation he thinks and hopes will obscure these powerful energies and put them into a quiet state.
He bottles up these intense and internal energies. As a result of this, negative effects arise physically, mentally, and emotionally.
These titanic reservoirs of energies are squashed down so tightly, that immense pressure builds up; eventually the pressure will burst forth and spill over through any arbitrary channel or outlet.
Usually, these energies will erupt explosively via negative channels, and manifest as events and situations which prove detrimental and debilitating for a person.
On the other hand, a person may manage to keep a lid on things. And instead, will create a superficial formulation for reality where he pretends ‘’ everything is the way it’s meant to be, and how people say it is’’.
He projects that out into his life. Because a person is always projecting something out into the world.
People in vast numbers, choose to live life formulating and projecting these superficial and false formulations. Underneath the surface, people are dealing with immensely powerful energies, and they are locking them up and pushing them down, as they can’t handle the thought of unleashing them.
At the subconscious level people believe that, if they directly express these powerful energies, they will do something that will land them in trouble.
Furthermore, they think if they fully express what’s inside, this will cause major conflicts and upheavals in their established lives.
This can induce a fear they will exceed the expectations of other people. Where they will stand out and appear very odd. And people wanting continuity and familiarity in life, will back down and not rock the boat of consensus.
So instead, people project superficial formulations of reality. They become cardboard cut-outs living shallow lives. They may appear on the surface congenial and pleasant. But internally, a major conflict and drama ensues. Over time, they feel passive, empty, and deflated.
The fear of not standing out, combined with the timidity and reluctance shown in not disrupting the status quo, and not rocking the boat, causes them to fall over-board anyway; into stormy seas of consensus sewage, where their deflated creative spirits drown amongst the crashing waves of toxic foam.
The crass and grotesque culture we see rotting away the planet, is a hideous reflection of humanity’s suppression of authentic creativity.
People’s authentic and unique qualities, talents, and personas are drowning metaphorically in oceans of conformity.
Stare into the abyss of modern society and observe how the many have transformed themselves into conformist clones.
Clones who speak with the same deadened language, think the same sterile thoughts, and feel with the same limbic emotions. They wear the same clothes and brands; have the same hairstyles; drive the same cars; eat the same crap; enjoy the same trivial entertainment; and they spend fortunes to have the same shade of tan (Ronseal brown with a tangy orange tinge).
Uniformity trumps uniqueness, in the clone zone.
The far reaching and marvellous potentials of the unique, quirky, and creative individual has been diminished within the boundaries of lowest common denominator society.
The suppression of creative impulses, and the diminishment of unique qualities which embody the essence of a free-spirited individual; has paved the way for swarms of clones to march in lockstep to the beat of mass consumerism.
In the clone zone, when a superficial trend is set by ‘influencers’ and media propagandists’, people will buy into that latest fad, slap it on their faces, uphold it as their identity, reduce and emerge their consciousness with it; and then parade it before other clones; by postering and posing, and projecting their shrunken facsimile of self on social media, as a badge of allegiance to superficial reality.
Whether it’s a parade and assimilation of: clones endorsing and following a new diet hack (such as veganism or the carnivore diet); mindlessly blowing vast clouds out from their popcorn lungs when vaping ( sucking toxic shit through lithium batteries encased within what I can only describe as shiny penises’); butchering their unique appearance through cosmetic surgeries ( blowing lips up to look like daffy duck); or it’s ‘men’ wearing like queer Nancy -boys, tight skinny jeans which resemble drainpipes; while they gorge excessively on the latest reality dating trash. Or it’s clones wearing identical apparel plastered in uniform advertising and branding, as they chant hypnotic slogans, while watching a bunch of pansies kick an inflated bag of wind around a square of neatly cut grass, who themselves are clones and for ninety minutes constantly roll around the floor as if they were shot (when in fact they have been faintly touched by another Prima donna pansy). Clones everywhere are ensconced, in whatever debased and moronic pursuits are universally celebrated and embraced by the consensus.
Apart from the contrived and tasteless pursuits, these conformist clones are highly malleable to PR propaganda. They blindly follow the official rhetoric designed to hypnotise them into willingly accepting slavery.
As consensus reality is weaved into the fabric of the culture, by social engineering propagandists; it’s the clones who get lost in the threads.
As PR propagandists announce the latest cause to rally around; the clones jump on the PR bandwagon without applying any critical thinking. Clones react predictably, hash-tagging a cause here and virtue signalling another there. No matter what political or social cause, no matter the context, nor whether it directly relates to them; they will salute whatever is in vogue, and scream out loud ‘ Conform! Conform! Conform!’’.
The irony of all this insanity, is that as this mass programming unfolds, there is a collective self-deception amongst the clones. As they still believe themselves to be independent, empowered, and unique individuals.
The unique, limitlessly creative, and adventurous individual has lost itself in the clone zone.
Sucked into a vacuous pit, by his own fears of expressing internal uniqueness and energies. He has been vectored into the clone zone by the fear ‘of what others will think.’ Conforming because of the fear of rejection and ridicule; and being labelled as an oddball or weirdo.
That is a tragedy, and I’m sick of watching this farce of conformity play out before my eyes.
To a strong degree my coaching is an endeavour to overcome this tide of consensus sewage conformity.
My coaching revolves around an iconoclastic, innovative, and inventive centre. Where I guide and encourage individuals to remove themselves from the murky waters of consensus reality and move out into the open and expansive waters of freedom, creativity, and discovery.
I help navigate clients through the choppy waves, as they embark on their endlessly adventurous voyages into uncharted, unexplored, and thrilling spaces.
Throughout imagination is their prow, it enables them to shift rapidly through the conformity chaos and into oceans of unlimited power.
Imagination is also a life raft for those drowning in the consensus. It’s what they can grasp hold of and connect with, to bring them to new and unexplored shores.
Ultimately this adventure, exploration, and discovery is of self.
It’s internal power brought into the external via unique creative expression.
It’s better to go out on your own, than drown through conformity as a clone.
