Imagine ruby slippers. The ruby slippers are a magical pair of shoes that were worn by Dorothy in the 1939 classic ‘The Wizard of Oz‘. But what do they symbolise?
In the movie, the slippers represent the underdog and their power to overcome negative forces (and succeed).
As such, this young farm girl from Kansas takes from the Wicked Witch to liberate oppressed people of Oz.
Therefor symbolically, they depict an ideology of revolution; that things really can change… but would you walk in their shoes? How do you imagine ruby slippers?
Before we answer that, I would like to welcome you to my new website awakenyouinnerpower.org!
Here I will be discussing the work I do as a transformational coach and how I approach working with clients by helping them in their personal transformations.
I operate from the preposition that we are all unique infinite individuals, and we create our own personal reality. After all, capacity to create is infinite!
So, let’s take a look at how a theme in a famous film can relate to personal power, transformation and everyday life.
It was while watching the classic, magical film Wizard of Oz that a connection came to mind; one that connects the ending of the film (and the nature creative power).
Instantaneously I simply knew that I had to do an article discussing this very connection.
In the films ending, the young heroine Dorothy has overcome the Wicked Witch in The Emerald City (AKA The Wicked Witch of the West). She is ready to return home but is not sure how.
The good witch informs Dorothy that “you have always had the power my dear to return back to Kansas”. This was instantly met with “why didn’t you tell me before?”
The good witch then explains to Dorothy how the belief in her own power had to be recognised by Dorothy before she could use it.
This scene from the film really resonates with me and the work I do. I simply find the thematic nature of the film fascinating.
Peter Breeze – Transformational Coach
The revelation of Dorothy’s own unique power, really does illustrate the point that the power an individual has, comes internally from oneself.
It is ready to be tapped into only when the individual can believe in their own unique (and infinite) power.
As a transformational coach, the approach I take with clients (and myself) is focused on expanding and stimulating the power that is inside every single one of us.
Power is your own unique ability to imagine and create what you desire. Be inspired, energised and feel alive by what you create. This will bring an individual an expanded sense of self.
In a previous article, I have discussed the various states of consciousness we can experience.
In creative consciousness and when one’s power is tuned, creating a desire as a reality is magic and it just requires you (the individual) to use your own ruby slippers.
Your Ruby slippers is your imagination! It is what cooks the goose of invention, manifestation and creativity.
Stimulating and applying imagination opens and creates new layers of reality for the individual.
However, action is required for a desire to manifest. But first, it starts by you using your imagination.
Stimulating your imagination and applying it requires commitment and a willingness to open oneself to think.
Although thinking in ways that are not constrained by rational or logical thinking can feel liberating, tthere is nothing wrong with logical or rational thinking. In fact, they are great channels for the imagination.
However, it is not the key component in creation. Overcoming this hardened rationality is a big challenge.
I meet with clients or in the coaching arena when presenting the concept that imagination is the key to creating your reality.
Imagination is seen as a strange, ridiculous, irrational and a quite trivial thing that kids use and should be left behind in childhood. This could not be further from the truth!
However, without imagination, we can experience depleted energy and felt somewhat ground down by daily life.
On the other hand, living Life with and through imagination is expanding one’s sense of self because one can see oneself through the filter of imagination.
This is infinite, and the possibilities are everywhere for us to witness. So, ultimately; anything can be created.
Imagine a society where everyone was fully engaging their imaginations and a society that encouraged such. What would be created? How would we live? Where could we go?
Under the sea and journey to the center of earth in a shuttle bus? Possibly outer space? Or maybe other dimensions using teleportation devices? Maybe Kansas?
When you investigate the genius that was Nikola Tesla , you become aware of how he used imagination so much as his main source to invent rather than going through the conventional and empirical scientific method. This is how powerful imagination is and how it creates and invents reality.
We could live in a society that has not only explored more of space but has built new civilisations in space too. Imagine the benefits that could transform our daily lives on planet earth.
In the context of cinematography, this is the reason that the Star Wars franchise is so popular. It stimulates peoples imagination of what is possible out there in space as the concept of more space itself is energising and liberating for an individual.
What other phenomena could happen? Maybe we could unlock abilities within us which could be deemed paranormal?
The possibilities are infinite because imagination has no limits and by its very nature is infinite.
Logic can take you from A to Z, imagination can take you anywhere.
Albert Einstein
A brilliant quote that perfectly illustrates the point that imagination is the key. It is the key to unlocking infinite realities, and possibilities.
I shall now refer again to the Wizard of Oz film where the story takes Dorothy on a search for The Emerald City to find the wonderful wizard so he can help her return home to Kansas.
The wizard is perceived as a powerful, almighty and omnipotent figure. However, she later discovers that he is merely a man behind a giant curtain.
A man who has been projecting the image of omnipotence across the city by using an array of tricks with light, sounds and smoke to create a perception of his magnificent and absolute power.
By focusing on what you would like to do, you can gain greater power and freedom to help you advance in the things you;re good at.
Therefore, start using your imagination!
Apply your imagination in whatever way you can imagine (that in itself is using imagination), write a fictional dialogue, imagine creating a person in front of you.
Then, write down on a piece of paper 50 things that could appear in front of you. Imagine a company or business you could create.
Sit in a park (or somewhere you feel comfortable), look to the sky (or your favourite plant) and imagine a new world in front of your eyes.
Imagine it (no matter how absurd it may seem, or abstract it may seem) and just go with it! There really is no need to analyse it whatsoever, just be spontaneous and take the leap.
Spontaneity (I feel) is a great way to spark imagination as spontaneity is done without the constraints of the rational mind. Therefore it allows imagination to come to the fore in a natural, organic fashion.
Creating your reality and what you desire is your power, it is your magic, and it works by you using your imagination. Reality starts with your intention and desire to use your imagination.
To digress, it will require you to do more than just click your heels 3 times! Once you use the power of your own imagination… you will be able go whatever you’d like to do, or be! Go get it.
