I’m ploughing on from my previous blog in a field of imagination.
I ponder, what seeds I may sow in the minds of readers this time?
I wonder is the soil fertile for my philosophical scatterings?
If by chance the soil is fecund then I hope the crows and ravens of realism don’t peck out the seeds I sow; and may my toiling’s and desires be nourished and cultivated by good faith and open minds. Let the cymbals of freedom and joy abate the squawks from the flying hard-beaked realists that hover above who are seeking to scavenge.
A stream of ideas are flowing from my consciousness just like the Mississippi. Spontaneous scribblings are sent gushing forth and rupture the dam of limitations. Bursting the banks of barren lands. Let floods of images and ideas drench what was once parched terra.
Frankly this is how I like to write. Poetic. In the moment and improvised. Off the cuff so to speak, or more to the point write off the cuff. I abhor the tech speak and quality of language that pullulates the internet and spiritual arenas. Information has it’s value but does it have to be presented in such android like fashion.
Why deluge data and pile up generalities upon the reader in a monotone style?
I wish to give you something to masticate on and savour like an alligator in the Mississippi, whose caught a bewildered hog in it’s menacingly forceful and monstrous jaws.
I like the discourse and I enjoy going off on tangents and taking the reader over there and then over here.
Keep them on their toes I say. It gives me a kick.
Then eventually I like to take the reader back to the point which I intended to bestow upon their mind.
So I sow all over the place seeds of imagination.
As my mind meanders down the flowing rivers of fantasy buoyed on a chimerical riverboat; I can feel a stir within the depths of my bow. Imagination is being launched into state of propulsion. Oh there it goes violently thrusting upon my neo-cortex like vast creamy foams of waves that crash up against sedimentary beach-rocks. I have sharpened my quill, which I fashioned from the plucked feather of a majestic swan that glides across a lake of steel. I suspect it was one of Leda’s fledglings which extended upon me such luxuriant offerings. Now let me dip mine quill in those sable waters of the magical ink-well and see what ramblings splatter on the page henceforth. I declare and self-proclaim myself the riverboat gambler throwing all my chips in one giant cosmic bet…
How my odds? Pretty damn good. I feel cock sure. I know I have an ace up my sleeve or is it the jokers perhaps?
The jokers of the pack are imagination and spontaneity. I see them wearing hysterical grins!
Imagination is drawn intensely to spontaneity, the attraction is mutual by all means. They are like two sides of the same psychic coin. Two lovers entwined and embraced in a cosmic dance, swaying to the melodic rhythms and tones of infinity.
They bounce of each other. Boing.
Oh but what’s that I hear in the distance? Is it the boing? No it’s not the boing. Is it the reverberations of a fog horn blown across a misty sea? No it’s a far quieter sound that I hear. Might that sound be the wonderous hum from an army of hummingbirds? I’m afraid not. I do believe it’s the sound of restless readers telling me to stop prattling on and get straight to the point.
Right then here I go…
Desire, energy and power depleting inside the reality machine
In my previous blog I presented the notion that imagination and desire are two powerhouses at the forefront of creating a greater personal reality and power; and when they come together they ignite fireworks within.
Well with full conviction I still stand by that notion. However in this moment I wish to expand upon what I discussed previously, by vectoring in the aspect and nature of spontaneity.
When you embark on the journey of power and you are creating what you truly desire there may appear a time of stagnation or a slowing down of energy and creativity. Your profound and unique desire is feeling now more like: a heavy burden, or a overwhelming challenge, or the boredom factor is creeping in after the initial period of excitement. When this occurs a build up of stress can manifest. Stress if it becomes unmanageable or isn’t transformed leads to depletion in energy and power.
Question then is: How did this exciting and unique desire transform into a state of stress, deflation and boredom?
From my own personal experience and from the work I have done with clients, this downturn stems predominantly from a creative approach and strategy that has become excessively: linear, repetitive, routine, structural and fixated on continuance.
In a way there is a hedging of bets from the individual. An emphasis and effort has been placed on predicting and controlling the outcome of what one is creating. This may be happening either on a conscious or subconscious level.
The thrill of actually creating has taken a back seat for predictability, productivity and outcome.
At the card table now is the calculative and prudent gambler. Who miserly and meekly throws a few chips down. He is timidly committed and cautious.
Suddenly the joy and exultation of creating makes way for efficiency, structure and continuance. Why does this happen though? Well the excessive reliance and compulsion for stability, structure and predictability prevails. All this is in a vain attempt to control an outcome that matches expectation, this is certainly a major factor in why creative energy can wane.
Nothing wrong in certain contexts with efficiency, structure or consistency. However if one is becoming reliant on these factors and is using these factors as a basis for placing value on a desire, or uses these factors for what to do next to create a desire; that’s when a depletion of energy, power and creativity can occur.
A profound desire has suddenly turned into a military operation and taking on mechanical aspects and qualities. It’s at this point when the juice and energy that feeds a desire dries out and the motor runs thin.
Desire is being grinded down by the reality machine. The illusionary ubiquitous appearance and omnipotence of the reality machine has cast a phantom shadow over the psyche of the individual. Time to break out and go beyond the monotonous machinations, and liberate and expand the infinite creative power within. Exit velocity is needed to launch out of the hideousness of the reality machine. What could possibly fuel such a propulsive launch???

Launching oneself out of and beyond the reality machine
Everything that isn’t creative, imaginative or not in the spirit of joy is the reality machine. Action or emotion that isn’t creating joy and power within you, is the reality machine. Passivity or surrendering to monotony and efficiency is the reality machine.
When passivity, boredom or a mechanical nature becomes evasive, then it’s at this juncture where imagination and spontaneity need vectoring in. When imagination and spontaneity are brought to the fore, then a transformation of energy and emotion within occurs and ignites the creative spark that had diminished somewhere deep in the alloys of the reality machine.
In a real sense spontaneity and imagination are the antithesis of the reality machine. The freedom and joy of spontaneity breaks out of the machine. The reality machine runs on cause and effect, it can’t cope with the slippery and unpredictable nature of spontaneity. While imagination’s infinite nature sees the machine and laughs at it’s frivolousness. These two wonderous jokers of the pack see the cosmic joke of it all and unleash corybantic laughter.
Living a creative life with spontaneity and imagination
Spontaneity comes from being, doing, feeling or creating IN THE MOMENT. Unscripted and without control or restraint being imposed. For when an individual is being spontaneous, there is a freeing and loosening up of ones’ grip on the reality machine.
Now the grip is fully loosened and the free individual falls into realms of imagination and joy. The soul bathes in rhapsodic and melodic seas of hues, vibration and ecstasy.
The sheer thrill of being alive takes over and life has greater energy, joy and power. Then when you hook this spontaneity up with infinite imagination, creating and living takes on new layers and dimensions.
Dimensions and layers of personal reality that are enriched with more intense, deeper and euphoric expressions and emotions.
Now at this point I wish to present a little personal background here: I love to paint and I’ve had a few exhibitions this year. Which I have found deeply fulfilling and enriching.
As a painter I work spontaneously. I paint faster than I can think and I work usually on several paintings at once, depending on how many canvases I have spare. Every painting is created with different hues, tones, textures, themes and composition. My approach is centred on spontaneity and creating something unique and different in each moment and painting.
The effect is incredibly uplifting, energising and empowering. There are days when I paint and I feel in a very real sense that I’m flying enraptured in magical realms and skies. Everything feels so much more alive and vivid. When I go for a walk outside after painting the buildings and surroundings feel alive; and as I breath and move this becomes connected with the breathes and movements of buildings, trees and objects. Everything is more intense and brighter. I feel like I have a greater state of self-awareness and of everything around me. On the days when I paint I feel magic takes place within me.
I have a deep inner conviction that these states of expanded consciousness and awareness, and feelings of exultation come from creating in the moment.
I don’t care for perfection or whether my art is reflecting or representing anything real. Neither do I care if its not related to some meaning or expressing an important message, or that it has any story behind it. Art doesn’t need a reason or a message. All that analysis of painting and art is programming in many ways. Furthermore it’s keeping one inside the reality machine. Art is expression and joy.
Art is creating new reality.
I just desire painting in the moment with spontaneity, freedom and expressive energy and emotion.
I apply this philosophical approach to the coaching and consultancy I offer.
Spontaneity and imagination is the direction I steer clients in. I provide clients during sessions: various and personally tailored techniques, exercises and ideas all designed to hook up their own unique infinite imagination with spontaneity. This enables clients greater energy and power as they continue their unique journey along the path of creating profound desires and reality.
I coach and consult individuals by showing and teaching them to abandon systems and rigidity, and patterns of continuance. The idea is all about allowing and encouraging individuals to loosen things up by using their imagination spontaneously. The idea is also to introduce via spontaneity and imagination a new dynamic component within a project or creative endeavour that can launch, and create a build up of momentum in what may have previously been stagnated. From this platform, transformation happens within individuals and what they create.
I have seen many clients suddenly and spontaneously access greater energy, emotion and power. I have discovered that this also creates within individuals a reduction in stress and fatigue. Major factors which can be debilitating when one is embarking on creating and transforming ones’ own unique reality.
I’m now going to throw in a few examples of the exercises I do with clients during sessions. Just to illustrate the spontaneous and imaginative nature of my coaching style.
Imaginary dialogue and theatrical role-play is one avenue I take clients down. I coach clients to write fictional dialogues between characters, or to play them characters or roles themselves with another person, usually me but it could be with someone else. The nature of these dialogues and role-plays are coming from a space of fun and irrationality, and of course are very imaginative and spontaneous. There is also the aspect of unlimited possibility to these dialogues and theatrical role-plays, as anything goes.
For example I encourage and guide a client to write a fictional dialogue that in our society or culture would be deemed irrational and totally childish. Sometimes a client will imagine something themselves straight off the bat or I may need to start them off at first until they get the hang of things.
A critical point to add in here, is that always the client is actively using their own imagination and not following suggestions or any system. I’m merely the facilitator and a guide of imagination work. Everything comes from within the individual.
An example of such fictional dialogue that could be imagined and invented: involves an orange and an apple that are in a fruit bowl.
The idea is to make it up in the moment using imagination and to not apply any limitations. Eventually things get going and dialogue happens. The orange and apple get into a heated discussion. The orange is telling the apple it’s a far greater fruit because it’s juicer, but the apple disagrees and thinks it’s greater because it’s more denser and crunchier. The orange then responds with how its richer in vitamin c and therefore is a better fruit. The dialogue goes back and forth and eventually a dialogue could be imagined where the orange and apple are talking about a world beyond the fruit bowl, and both fruit are making plans to return to their native orchards so they can start a new life and create a family.
Yes it may seem crazy and that I’m crazy. So what? The dialogue and scenario may be ridiculous but after doing these kind of imaginary and fun dialogues, what often can spring from this is an expansion in energy, imagination and a feeling of being alive. The spontaneity of it all has done something magical.
What else can happens is that sparks go off at some point within ones mind and imagination. A brilliant idea or insight has occurred from doing this dialogue that could transform a project, situation, relationship etc, etc. The imagination is firing and it’s fuelled by spontaneity.
Creative visualisations is another example of a style and technique I provide during consultancy sessions. I guide clients through spontaneous visualisations where I prompt them to imagine: that they are in different spaces and locales; and from there I guide them to imagine colours and energies flowing through and from them, and then I sometimes guide them to project and radiate these colours and energies into other spaces or locales; furthermore I guide a client to also visualise sounds and tastes and to project and radiate them into other spaces or people or symbols; sometimes these visualisations involve archetypes; on other occasions I encourage a client to create sounds spontaneously. The whole quality and nature of these visualisations is free, enlivening, imaginative and in the moment.
When things feel challenging, fatiguing, or boredom and routine has set in, then it’s time to introduce dynamism.
Spontaneity is dynamic and so is it’s lover imagination.
Create the reality you desire, and do so with spontaneity and imagination. That is pure magic!
Then you will find yourself going far beyond the reality machine.
