Freedom Vs Fear

Hello there, my name is Peter Breeze, and today we will be exploring two things; freedom, and fear.

I am a Transformational life coach (along with many things in life) and I work with people in guiding and supporting them to connect and tap into their own unique and infinite power so they can transform their lives. In my articles I would like to share my own personal experience and insights that may be of benefit to you.

Freedom Vs Fear

From the outset I will be honest and upfront in saying I am not a trained writer. Maybe you could say that I am more of a novice learning the art. However, do have life experience that I would like to share with the world, and thought a blog would be a great way to do so while improving my skills and reaching out to more people.

I express myself authentically, writing in my own unique style and from a place of good will. I have a strong conviction in being and living as an original and try to define our individuality though both my work, and social environments. Authenticity is name of the game!

To end this introduction, I would like to let you know I will be posting many more articles regularly on my website awakenyourinnerpower.org and on my LinkedIn page. Finally, I will always appreciate and welcome feedback.

Living in Fear

At this present moment, modern society is amid a great battle (one of many may I add), but rest assured; this is a massive one… the battle of Freedom vs Fear.

This battle is happening in the core of every individuals psyche on earth and it’s like an elephant in the room that is not being talked about.

Well, you might say that is a rather general statement, but when you look at where society is at and going, it’s clear that there are conflicts that arise both internally and externally, all stemming from a simple choice. The choice of whether one decides to live life with a sense of freedom, or fear.

Living in Fear

I would like to expand on this notion now by discussing what is freedom and fear.

Let us start with fear. Often, many people associate or connect fear with feelings of immense terror or extreme anxiety. However, fear can really be much more subtle and insidious in its nature. We might not be consciously aware of that and therefor act in a state of denial of fear.

There are the big fears of course which all other fears branch out from. There is the fear of death, fear of what others think and the fear of the unknown. Terrifying, hey?

Understanding and recognising these fears is important. If we are to transcend fears and live life from a place of power and freedom, we can draw inspiration from our lives to lead a fulfilled and healthy life.

The Fear of Death

First up, there’s The Fear of Death. Well, that’s numero uno for many, but why?

Well, we have some people in society who consider themselves atheist or scientific and believe life is lived once in a physical body and physical world and that is your lot. The afterlife is merely one composed of being a pile of ashes or a corpse rotting underground.

Then we have a section of society whose religious beliefs pertain to the notion that the physical body dies, and then the soul or spirit leaves the body, ascending to either a locale called heaven or descending to locale called hell. Thus, the soul’s destination is determined and based on one’s actions while living on earth.

The Fear of Death

Another perspective is the Buddhist, Spiritualist and New Age belief of reincarnation and of living many lifetimes where death is not death, but a transition from physical to spiritual realms.

I personally believe in the soul living many lives so it can expand its awareness, learn lessons and experience the physical form. In essence, I believe we are immortal, an infinite cosmic energetic soul no less. However, that is my own personal belief.

Whatever your belief, life is a gift. Whether you believe in living once, or you have the assertion that it is a brief experience for immortal souls experiencing infinity… life is there to be lived to its fullest. Therefore, why we are so afraid of it?

You know death’s silly huh, if it is just one life here and no afterlife well why spend it living in fear and why not enjoy life to the full and make the most of it? After all ‘you only live once’ as the expression goes.

However, if you believe in an afterlife or reincarnation, then why would you be afraid of a transition from the physical to the spiritual? Especially when there is plethora of spiritual literature out there that describes the transition from the physical realm to spiritual realm as a truly magical and beautiful experience.

Simply put, our fear of death is stupid, irrational and a waste of time, time we could spend instead creating a life enriched with joy, love and fulfilment.

What will people think?

So, death no big event to fear, what about another major fear of “what will people think of me?”

Now this for many is the biggest fear, but why? What would be so devastating in one’s life if they did or said something that’s others did not approve of?

Now I am not talking about committing some awful crime or acting in a disrespectful or hideous manor that imposes on someone else’s free will. I am talking about something that may have been met with criticism, rejection or a thumbs down on a YouTube video or Facebook post.

What will people think?

Ask yourself, would you cease to exist, or be exiled to a social prison for all of eternity from a ‘dislike’? Of course not. Maybe a superficial relationship would be lost but so what.

Perhaps it’s rooted in another fear and that is one of loneliness or abandonment? If we know thyself and we’re enriched by who we are and what we create here on earth, why does it matter if we are disliked or perceived as a ‘bad person’, or a ‘weirdo’ or ‘nutter’ etc.

Furthermore, if we are living life true to ourselves, there are people out there who will admire it… especially over someone who just behaves in a certain way so they do not upset anyone. I am talking about authenticity here something I will discuss in depth in another article.

Ask yourself, is worrying or fearing what others think worth giving your energy to? Is this fear something impossible to overcome? Or is it worth stressing yourself out to the point you hold yourself captive in this prison of fear? Ask yourself these questions!

Fear of the Unknown

The fear of the unknown… well, that is another scary one hey? For some, not knowing what is around the corner can be a daunting prospect. Whether it be for the next hour, days, years or decades, or maybe venturing into uncharted territories, this has the potential to could scare the bejesus out someone who is living in fear.

Fear of the Unknown

Personally, I find it exciting not knowing everything that lies ahead for me and discovering new spaces or people I do not know. Something unknown and novel I find that really gets me excited and energised, and if we know who we truly are, then whatever comes our way does not matter. We are still our true selves; powerful and authentic.

Living the same routine day in, day out and not experiencing new adventures? Is that really a life to live? Why not go down the road you never been down before? Maybe turn the sat-nav off on your next journey… or try something that you find intimidating? Give it a go!

What if you make mistakes? It really does not matter as we will learn and grow from this. Having faith in the future really enables us to transcend fear, so go ahead and take the leap!

Fear of not being good

So, what other fears are there? Maybe the fear of not being good enough is making you anxious? Not being good at something can be a terrifying thought for some, but where does that fear stem from?

Is it spawned out of a fear of not living up to someone’s expectations, or of your own? Maybe this presents a enormous cataclysm in your life?

When we look at this fear from another perspective, ultimately; who decides what is good enough? Who are we letting down?

We are here on this planet to work on ourselves, right? Although this by its very nature presents itself is as another irrational fear. After all, who in life do we have to prove ourselves to anyway?

If we are our true authentic self, and accept life as an experience and opportunity to learn lessons, why fear if we may appear inferior or not good enough in someone else eyes.

Fear of not being good

Furthermore, if someone is judging us for not being ‘good enough’, than surely it’s more of reflection on them and their insecurities?

The expression ‘when someone is pointing one finger at you, they are always pointing three back at themselves’ springs to mind!

Another personal favourite (and one I like to bear in mind) is, ‘what others think of you is none of your business’.

Personally, this was a major fear of mine and one I can to overcome. Having had this fear in my life for many years, one day I had enough and decided I it was time to liberate myself to enable myself to grow and flourish in life. It was then that I committed to living life with an expanded sense of freedom and power.

When we stop trying to prove ourselves to others and allow ourselves to be true to ourselves, we can be at peace with who we are, and all of our beautiful imperfections.

We then can work on the dreams that inspire us and create them as a reality in our everyday life. Sound simple? It is.

With the right direction we can enrich, energise and expand our lives so much, ultimately dissolving the stress within us… when we let go of this fear!

Dissolve the fear, let it go and start living life freely. After all, FEAR is an acronym for False Emotion Appearing Real.

Living life with Freedom

At this present time, freedom of the global population is being restricted on a physical level in so many ways.

We are living in a world where people delude themselves by immersing themselves in stories to escape reality.

Living Life with Freedom

Being manipulated by fear, whether it be orchestrated by public belief or otherwise is never a good thing. Try and take a step back from things that may be contributing to personal fears, anxieties or worries that you may have.

Freedom is what you make it, not what others tell you it is. Your reality, is just that! When we hear slogans like ‘we are all in this together’ for some it can trigger feelings of loneliness and isolation, having the adverse effect. ‘You are not alone’ may have been more fitting for many with symptoms of fear or depression?

So how can we free ourselves? well right now we can start by taking in a deep breath (or a few maybe), then allow yourself the opportunity and space to not get caught up in fear and panic. You then can ask yourself questions and have an objective mind to think and see things more clearly and logically.

Firstly, there is nothing to fear in life but fear itself. You have the choice whether to dwell in fear or to transcend that and think freely.

Furthermore, being in a state of fear disables one’s capacity to think clearly and logically.

Freedom is a choice

Freedom is a choice and it’s up to every individual to make that choice and to live and breathe freedom.

Living with Freedom in our minds, actions and behaviour is required so we can live life with an expanded sense of self and enjoy the world around us.

Whenever we feel free and happy, we are empowered and we are expanded version of ourselves, our energy is flowing, and this has an incredibly powerful and positive effect on those around us.

Freedom is a choice

Even if our physical world or environment may be restricted, we can be free energetically and mentally, and this sense of freedom is inspiring.

Not only is it inspiring, but with power and authenticity, there is no fakery, pretence or victimhood, one is living freely as one is living true to thyself.

Living with freedom is about moving through life with a sense of possibilities and choices in life, and if you are living life true to yourself and from a greater place of power and freedom you make decisions that will always be working for you.

Opportunities will present themselves to you and life will work out well for you. Fear will always come up for us at some point, of course it will. It’s about how we manage it when it does.

When it does, you can transcend that fear and learn to choose freedom. By growing and moving through uncertainty and apprehension, to a place where you are living your life you will have better fulfillment, inspiration and freedom.

Reflecting upon my own life I can see how my life always became harder and more of a struggle every time I chose to live in fear.

I decided to take what seemed the secure option at the time because I was in Fear of what I might happen, or indeed what others might have thought.

However, my life journey has become more exciting, fulfilling and enriching when I have chosen to listen to my intuition and opted for freedom.

Sure it is challenging sometimes, but I have grown and empowered myself so much by living this way that I will never make decisions that may compromise my life when coming from a place of fear.

Every one of us is born free, and Freedom is our birth right! However if we choose to give that right away and succumb to fear, then we will be living life in state of dis-empowerment and what a waste that would be.

Choose Freedom and your life will transform… and, so will the world around you.
